The award-winning director Martin Scorsese, is preparing his new movie Killers of the Flower Moon, this time in collaboration with Apple. After last year’s success The Irishman which he collaborated with Netflix, Scorsese returns to the big screen and Apple TV+.
Apple, according to reports, is very close to an agreement with Paramount to undertake the production of Scorsese’s new film, for which it will have to dig deep into its pockets as its budget exceeds $180 million.
Paramount will undertake distribution for screening in cinemas worldwide while Apple will secure exclusive broadcasting through the Apple TV+ platform.
Martin Scorsese has already collaborated with Apple in the past, as he remotely directed a scene from The Departed through iChat, and also previously directed a commercial for the digital assistant Siri.
On its part, Apple TV+ is bolstering its activity with a new strong agreement after the recent acquisition of the rights to the drama Greyhound starring Tom Hanks.
The film Killers of the Flower Moon is a social drama, based on the homonymous novel and deals with the investigation of the murders of the Osage Nation Indians. The story takes place in Oklahoma of the United States, in the early 1920s. The protagonist will be Leonardo DiCaprio.
