The coronavirus pandemic, as expected, has a significant impact on the technology industry. With official events being cancelled one after another, presentations of new technological achievements are delayed, and the once enthusiasm for anything new is no longer as apparent. Many manufacturing giants, including Google and Microsoft, held their conferences online, adapting their events to the new circumstances.
Apple held its emblematic presentation of its new products on September 15th. The Apple Event titled “Time Flies” took place online with the company’s CEO Tim Cook as the host. The sixth generation Apple Watch, the most advanced Apple has ever produced, and the new 8th generation iPad Air with the A12 Bionic processor were presented at the event.
What was missing from the online event? Of course, Steve Jobs’ catchphrase, “one more thing“, which until recently was followed by the revelation of each new iPhone. The much-anticipated iPhone 12, which will support 5G data speeds, literally shone through its absence because the production was set back several weeks due to the coronavirus. It is likely that Apple’s smartphone will be presented a month later. Until then, all fans around the world can do is… be patient!
