Your iPhone comes preinstalled with a range of embedded applications. Some of these useful built-in apps are Calendar, Stocks, Calculator, Email, etc. Some of the preinstalled applications cannot be deleted. Others are deleted but can be restored. The same applies to iPads.
Before reinstalling an application you have deleted, search for it on your device and make sure it is not “hidden” somewhere. From the home screen, swipe down until the Spotlight search bar appears. Type in the name of the application and wait until the icon appears in the results. If it appears, it means that the application is installed but is hidden in a folder. In the latest versions of iOS you can find the application in the App Library and add it back to the home screen.
But what if the app you are looking for is not found in the Spotlight results? If the application has been permanently deleted from the device, you only have to download it again for free from the App Store.
In the App Store, type in the search field the name of the application. Make sure, from the icon, that you have selected the “official” application and not a third-party one with a similar name. To make sure it is the right one, press its entry on the results list and then see the information screen. For built-in applications, the indication “Developer: Apple” appears and the iCloud download icon appears next to it instead of the Download or Purchase button. By downloading, the application is again available on your device and you can locate it easily either on the home screen or in the App Library.
