Distinctive Features of Xiaomi 13T Pro and Xiaomi 13 Pro: In what aspects do they differ?

In 2022, Xiaomi introduced the “T” versions of its flagship series 12, offering basic specifications on a more affordable device. It followed the same pattern with the Xiaomi 13 series, presenting the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro.

The Xiaomi 13T Pro aims for high performance, speed, and impressive display on a phone that does not carry the high cost of the excellent 13 Pro. However, as expected, there is a certain degree of compromise.

The Xiaomi 13T Pro is expected to cost £649 in the UK (approximately 800 euros), in contrast to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which is around £1100 (approximately 1400 euros).

Examining the rear parts of the two phones, the differences are visible. The design and materials used differ. The 13 Pro has a more expensive ceramic back, either in black or white, while the 13T Pro has a glass back in the Black and Meadow Green models, and vegan leather in Alpine Blue.

The screens are also coated with different crystals. The 13 Pro uses Gorilla Glass Victus on the front, while the 13T Pro uses the less durable Gorilla Glass 5. Both are water and dust resistant, certified with IP68.

In addition, the 13 Pro is thinner and narrower than the 13T Pro, but also taller and heavier due to the ceramic back.

As for the display, there is a difference in specifications, but both provide high-performance screens. The 13 Pro screen is Quad HD+ (3200 x 1440), while the 13T Pro is FullHD+ (2712 x 1220).

While the 13 Pro has a larger display, the difference in pixel density is about 60 ppi, which does not significantly affect clarity.

In terms of refresh rate, the 13T Pro supports up to 144 Hz, while the 13 Pro goes up to 120 Hz. This difference is not visible to the naked eye.

As for brightness, both support Dolby Vision and HDR10+, with the maximum brightness of the 13T Pro surpassing 2600 nit against the 1900 nit of the 13 Pro.

Camera and Performance

In the camera department, some concessions have been made on the 13T Pro to reduce cost. Although it doesn’t reach the levels of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, it provides a significantly effective 50-megapixel sensor in the main camera. The 13 Pro’s sensor is slightly larger, offering excellent detail and depth.

Both models have a 50-megapixel telephoto zoom camera, but the zoom capability of the 13 Pro is slightly greater. Both also offer an ultra-wide camera, with the 13 Pro having a 50 megapixel sensor against the 12 megapixel of the 13T Pro.

Video and Performance

Both models support 8K video, 10-bit LOG files, and HDR10+ at 4K resolution. The differences are minimal.

Hardware, Performance and Battery

In the world of smartphones, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon is considered a symbol of power. The Xiaomi 13T Pro provides an alternative solution with the MediaTek 9200+ processor. In everyday tasks, the difference in performance is negligible.

Memory and storage, however, are significantly different. The 13T Pro has either 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, while the 13 Pro offers 8 GB or 12 GB. As for storage space, the 13T Pro offers options of 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB, while the 13 Pro 128GB, 256GB or 512GB.

In terms of battery life, the differences are minimal. The 13T Pro has a 5000mAh battery, while the 13 Pro 4820mAh. The different screens, cameras, and processors may affect autonomy.

Both models support fast charging, with Xiaomi’s 120 W HyperCharge technology. The 13 Pro also supports 50W wireless charging, while the 13T Pro does not offer wireless charging.

Overall, both models offer impressive performance and options, each with its own strengths and advantages.
