Xiaomi has unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which is powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The phone also features main cameras by Leica, a new design, and the new HyperOS software.
Cameras
Xiaomi has made some significant changes to the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s cameras. The main sensor has been replaced with a new sensor called “Light Hunter 900″ with a custom Leica Summilux lens. The sensor is a 50MP 1/1.31” with a pixel size of 1.2μm and a dynamic range of 13.5 EV. The custom 23mm lens has variable aperture, from f/1.42 at its widest to f/4.0 when closed.
The new sensor is about 44% smaller than the 1-inch type sensor from last year’s Xiaomi 13 Pro. The telephoto lens of the Xiaomi 14 Pro has also been upgraded. It has a 75mm f/2.0 aperture and Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor. It supports optical image stabilization (OIS) and can capture close-up photos at 10 centimeters. It can shoot standard 40MP photos and 50MP portraits.
The third camera is a 50MP f/2.2 14mm ultrawide snapper with 5-centimeter macro capabilities.
