The first foldable smartphone from Xiaomi is here! It is the impressive Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold that was recently officially presented by the company. The first question many had was whether the foldable screen is durable and the company’s answer is decisive since the hinges have been tested 1,000,000 times in order to prove the durability during use!
Among its high tech features is the 8.01’’ flexible internal AMOLED screen in full size with a resolution of 2480 x 1860, brightness 600nits, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. For a better audio experience, it comes with four Harman Kardon stereo speakers and an optimized version of the MIUI operating environment for multitasking that aims to free users from their laptop and tablet.
On the outside, it stands out with a 6.52’’ screen with a resolution of 2520 x 840, a refresh rate of 90Hz, brightness of 700nits and Dolby Vision support. As for the hardware, it is worth mentioning the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and new micro Air Bag cooling system that accelerates heat dissipation.
The new Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold comes with 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM memory, 256GB/256GB storage space, side fingerprint sensor, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, 5G, Android 10 operating system (not 11) with MIUI, a 5020mAh battery capacity (2 batteries to be precise) with support for 67W power charging and USB Type-C port. The triple camera on the back surface with a main 108MP sensor+ 13MP ultrawide 123º + 8MP telemacro (3x optical zoom, 30x digital) has its own Surge C1 ISP image processor and Liquid Lens for the last sensor. Finally, there is a 20MP sensor in the hole of the external screen, naturally for selfies. The first foldable smartphone from Xiaomi is expected to be initially released in China. Its price ranges at 9999 yuan (€1300) for the 12GB + 256GB version, 10999 yuan (€1430) for the 12GB + 512GB version and 12999 yuan ( €1685) for the special ceramic material edition with 16GB RAM + 512GB.
