First, WhatsApp introduced disappearing conversations. Recently, Messenger and Instagram adopted the same disappearing feature, giving users the ability to not keep the conversations they choose in the chat history. The recent messages are automatically deleted after closing the chat window.
In order for this specific feature to be enabled, users simply have to swipe up at the bottom of the conversation where there is a corresponding indication. The messages remain on the screen until the application is deactivated. This particular feature is found in both individual and group chats. However, in group chats messages while they disappear immediately, they are kept in the system for a period of 14 days. The reason is that Facebook allows the reporting of conversations.
Instagram is also set to adopt this specific disappearing feature in messages soon. Currently, it allows the direct disappearance of photos sent directly with a message.
Even if there are disappearing conversations, users should be particularly careful and not credulous. Even if someone tells you that the messages you send will be automatically deleted, don’t forget there is always the possibility of screenshots!
