An urgent notification about applications they have installed on their mobile phones is received by millions of Android users.

These specific applications contain extremely annoying adware, which not only slows down devices, but also offers huge sums of money to cyber thieves!

Security experts at McAfee’s Mobile Research Team say they have discovered a total of 38 dangerous apps on Google’s Play Store, which claimed to offer Minecraft type games. However, after downloading, they filled the phones with this annoying adware.

How the annoying and dangerous adware works

This type of error secretly displays advertisements in the background of the device with the owner never knowing that his phone is being bombarded with paid messages.

All applications have now been blocked by Google, but unfortunately they have already been downloaded more than 34 million times. This creates a very serious issue.

“The popularity of Minecraft has led to many attempts to recreate similar games,” explained Dexter Shin of McAfee. “As a result, there are so many games with the same idea as Minecraft worldwide.

Even on Google Play, we can easily search for similar games. The McAfee Mobile research team recently discovered 38 games with hidden advertising.

These HiddenAds apps were discovered on Google Play Store and have been installed by at least 35 million users worldwide. The full list of malicious applications can be found in the related McAfee blog post.
