The official release of the new generation iPhone is still several months away, but leaks continue one after the other. Specifically, new revelations about the upgraded camera system of the upcoming flagship devices, the complete CAD render of the Pro Max, and detailed designs of the iPhone 14 Pro have just been released, with detailed information about their dimensions.

The leaker ShrimpApplePro was the first to leak the design of the two upcoming iPhones. According to the renders, the bezels of the iPhone 14 Pro Max will reach 1.95mm from 2.42 mm, that is 20% smaller than the iPhone 13 Pro Max, making them the thinnest we have seen so far on a smartphone. Responding to the demands of its fans, Apple has made a change that has not occurred since 2017, with the release of the iPhone X. This will result in a larger screen-to-body ratio. The screen will reach 6.7 inches and its dimensions will be 160.7 mm in height, 78.53 mm in width including the side buttons, and 12.16 mm in depth including the rear camera. The Pro, on the other hand, will have a depth of 7.85 mm, a width of 71.45 mm and a height of 147.46 mm.

The camera bump, as already mentioned, is expected to be larger for both devices, as Apple is going to use a 45MP main sensor, instead of the 12MP sensor that we have seen so far. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently stated that the camera of Apple’s new flagships will be 25% to 30% larger. New information from the Chinese social network Weibo and detailed representations reinforce this claim.

Rumors regarding the camera also state that the sensor manufactured by Sony will have dual pixel auto focus (DPAF) technology and the ability to record 16:9 HDR video at 60 fps. Its size will reach 1/1.3 inches, increased by 21.2% compared with the 1/1.65 inch sensor of the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro are expected to be the first mobiles with fully symmetrical frames, on all sides of the screen, thanks to the removal of the notch and the introduction of the new dual punch hole layout for the front camera and face id. The specific layout is claimed to reach 7.15 mm for the pill shape and 5.59 mm for the punch hole. In terms of technology, the screen is expected to have a 120Hz ProMotion image refresh rate.

Some more information we learned is that both devices are expected to have USB-C connectivity and the whole line up of the series 14 will have 6GB of memory, with entry level models having LPDDR 4X technology and flagships having LPDDR 5. The Pro and Pro Max models are said to have an A16 processor, but the company is rumored to be facing difficulties in obtaining this particular chipset.
