Apple Inc announced that it expects reduced deliveries of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max mobile phones compared with previous estimates, as COVID-19 restrictions have caused temporary production reduction problems at a factory unit in the city of Zhengzhou, China.
“The factory unit is currently operating, with significantly reduced production capacity,” Apple stated in an announcement. “Our customers will need to wait for a longer period to receive the new products,” the company added.
30% reduction in China’s production
Reports indicated that the production of iPhones would be reduced by approximately 30% at one of the world’s largest industrial units in November, due to COVID restrictive measures in China.
The central factory unit in Zhengzhou, where about 200,000 people work, is malfunctioning due to the implementation of measures against the spread of the coronavirus, with many workers leaving.
