Last year, Apple decided to take a different approach with the iPhone 14. Instead of following the same strategy as the iPhone 13, offering a smaller size mini model, it chose to bring the iPhone 14 Plus to the market, which had a larger screen than the baseline iPhone.
Practically, the only big difference between the iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 14 is the screen, which goes up from 6.1 inches to 6.7. Of course, the first reaction of the market was at least… tepid, with Apple almost immediately reducing its production. In fact, as it recently became known, the sales of the Plus model have seriously concerned Apple, which is thinking about making big changes with the next-generation iPhone 15.
The next moves of Apple
Given this, in combination with information from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who revealed in September that the iPhone 13 mini had sold more than the iPhone 14 Plus, there are quite a few who thought that Apple would revert to its previous design, with an iPhone 15 mini. Finally, reliable information indicates that so far Apple has not planned to release any iPhone 15 mini in 2023.
Most likely, the company will try to more distinctly differentiate the Pro from the simple iPhones through their features and their price. This implies that those who want a smaller iPhone than the starting model of 6.1 inches, will probably have to resort to the iPhone SE.
