Protecting your iPhone: Guidelines that will assist you. The security of your iPhone is extremely important. The first rule is to set a password on your device to ensure its safety. To do this, simply open Settings and go to Face ID (or Touch ID) & Passcode, following the instructions.

The next significant action is to activate the “Find My Phone” function. There is a good chance that it is already activated, but it is always good to confirm it. Open the Settings, go to “Find My” and choose “Find My iPhone”. Check if the switches next to “Find My iPhone”, “Find My Network,” and “Send Last Location” are enabled. Newer iPhone devices have upgraded systems that allow a signal to be emitted even when the device is turned off. However, keep in mind that this device tracking ability is exclusive to iPhone 11 and newer devices, with iOS15, and can last up to 24 hours after deactivation.

If your iPhone gets lost, you can locate it via the “Find My” app or from any computer that has iCloud access. Additionally, you can use the device of another family member, if you have enabled “Family Sharing”. You can also use any other Apple device, as long as you can log in with your Apple ID. Regardless of how you access iCloud, you need to log in to the iCloud account linked to your iPhone and click on “All Devices” to select your lost iPhone. After this, the map displayed on the screen will show your device’s current location.

From the same location, you can set your device to play a sound to help you find it, enable the “Lost Mode” function, or even erase all data from the device if you can’t locate it.
