It’s the era where smartphones can even compete with professional DSLRs, and Samsung seems determined to take smartphone photography a step further. A new tip from well-known leaker Ice Universe suggests that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be equipped with an upgraded 200MP main camera.
As reported, the main camera will feature a 200MP ISOCELL HP25X sensor, an improved version of the current ISOCELL HP2. Also included is Super Quad Phase Detection technology for more accurate and faster autofocus, as well as native 4-in-1 and 16-in-1 pixel binning. This means that the mobile will be able to produce 50MP and 12MP photos respectively, with higher quality and detail.
But it doesn’t stop there. The S24 Ultra is also expected to bring a new and improved 3x telephoto camera. It’s rumored to be a 50MP shooter, with a 1/2.52″ sensor size and 0.7μm pixels. This is significant as the larger sensor size and improved technology will contribute to the production of higher-quality photos, particularly in low-light conditions.
In general, if these information are confirmed, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra seems to be a photographic “beast”. These upgrades promise a significant boost in image quality, while giving Samsung a very strong lead in the race for the best smartphone camera for 2023.
Finally, we shall see whether these leaks will be confirmed and how close the final product will be to these specifications. However, one thing is certain: Samsung seems ready to offer a photography experience that will “break” the norms.
