The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series has already started to be discussed, with famous leaker Ice Universe providing information about the Ultra model that is flooding the internet.
Let’s start with the design. If we believe what Ice Universe says, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will make a significant change to the screen layout. The new model is expected to be slightly thicker, wider, and rounded on the side frames compared to its predecessor, the S23 Ultra.
As for the aspect ratio of the screen, this is set to change from 19.3:9 to 19.5:9, which means that the phone will be slightly shorter but wider and thinner.
The screen ratio is expected to be about 88%, the lowest for a Samsung flagship since the Galaxy S10. Many may wonder why Samsung is making this decision, especially at a time when companies are competing for the largest possible screen.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra seems to maintain the same screen size as its predecessor, the S23 Ultra. However, with the transition to a flat screen and increased width, the phone may become more difficult to use with one hand. Add to this the thickness of a protective case, and ergonomics could become even more challenging.
In available renders, the screen of the S24 Ultra is displayed as a perfect rectangle, which, in combination with rounder side frames, makes the phone look more spacious than it possibly is in reality. In contrast, a rendering of the competitive iPhone 15 Ultra suggests that Apple is leaning towards a more ergonomic design.
