The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a significant upgrade compared to the current iPhone 15 Pro. The new model will bring a series of important new features, including advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities.
According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has made rearrangements in the Siri department, incorporating teams for AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) and LLM (Large Language Models). This means that Siri will be able to create more informative content, as well as understand and respond better to user questions and commands.
For example, Siri will be able to create more interesting and informative news summaries, translate languages with greater accuracy, and provide more personalized recommendations.
Additionally, Kuo believes that Apple will focus on activating the AI features of the iPhone 16 Pro through voice commands. To achieve this, Apple has dedicated many resources to optimizing Siri’s specs.
For example, Siri will be able to be activated with a simple “Hey Siri” from a distance, even if the iPhone is locked. It will also be able to respond to questions and commands more quickly and effectively.
All versions of the iPhone 16, including the iPhone 16 Plus, will feature significantly upgraded microphones. The new microphones will have improved water resistance and better SNR (signal to noise ratio), which will improve sound quality during calls, recordings, and conversations with Siri.
Kuo estimates that Apple will pay at least 100-150% more for the new microphones of the iPhone 16. Apple’s microphone suppliers for the iPhone 16 are AAC and Goertek.
The AI capabilities of Siri are expected to be one of the selling points of the iPhone 16 Pro. Apple has already invested significantly in the development of Siri, and it seems that it wants to make it a more powerful and useful tool for users.
Of course, it is still too early to say with certainty how Apple will use AI in Siri. However, it is clear that Apple is investing significantly in this technology and believes it has the potential to change the way we use our smartphones.
The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to be released in the fall of 2024.
