Samsung Galaxy S24: New release date, double storage space and Galaxy AI

Samsung has announced the release date of the Galaxy S24 series, as well as a range of new features and improvements.

New release date

The new phones will be released on January 17, with pre-orders starting the following day. This is two weeks later than the original release date that was announced, which was on January 3.

Double storage with pre-order

To encourage consumers to pre-order, Samsung will offer double the storage at the original price for those who purchase a Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ or Galaxy S24 Ultra.

For example, the Galaxy S24 with 128GB of storage will be available for pre-order at a price of 999 euros. After the release, the price will increase to 1,299 euros.

Galaxy AI

Samsung is expected to bring Generative AI first to the Galaxy S24 series via the One UI 6.1 interface. Generative AI is said to improve Night Mode, the 200 MP photos on the Ultra, and offer live language translation during voice calls.

Other features and improvements

Aside from the Galaxy AI, the new phones are expected to feature other characteristics and improvements, such as:

  • New camera sensors, such as a 48MP main sensor.
  • New camera features, such as automatic 8K video recording.
  • New security features, such as biometric unlocking with the face and finger.
  • New performance features, such as the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

Prices

The prices of the new phones have not yet been announced. However, they are expected to be similar to the prices of previous models.
