Apple Redefines Battery Life on iPhone 15: New Tests Reveal Impressive Improvement

Apple recently revealed through an announcement that it has conducted a new examination of the batteries across the iPhone 15 series, concluding that they are capable of providing even better performance compared to original expectations. In the support document, the company indicates that the batteries of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max are designed to retain at least 80% of their original capacity after 1,000 full charge cycles, reflecting a significant improvement compared to the 500 cycles that applied to older iPhone models.

In statements to MacRumors, Apple stated that the recent test process for iPhone 15 models involved charging and discharging the battery 1,000 times under special conditions, without providing a detailed description of the process. In addition, it emphasized the continuous improvements it has implemented in the battery components and the power management system, aiming for greater performance and durability.

This development implies that owners of the newer iPhone 15 models will be able to enjoy longer use of their device before they face significant reduction in the maximum battery capacity, compared to previous models. Apple also stated that it is reviewing the lifespan of the batteries of older iPhone models, suggesting that future comparisons will be based on the newer test parameters.

Apple also points out that the lifespan of an iPhone’s battery depends on various factors, such as how the device is used and charged. For users who wish to check the health of their iPhone’s battery, Apple provides relevant instructions: simply open the Settings app, tap Battery and select Battery Health and Charging. On the iPhone 15 running the latest beta version of iOS 17.4, this section has been updated and is now simply called Battery Health, providing even more information about the battery status at a glance.
