It’s rumored that the iPhone 16 series will consist of four models, as Apple has accustomed us to over recent years. The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max in September, and it seems to anticipate an increase in sales.
According to 9to5mac, Apple expects huge demand for its new phone series and is collaborating with its suppliers aiming to sell 90 million units in 2024.
Many analysts doubt that the iPhone 16 will sell so much, as it is not expected to offer many new features. The latest percentage indicates that a 10% increase in sales is expected compared to the iPhone 15 that were sold in 2023.
With the announcement of Apple Intelligence, an iPhone with 8GB RAM and the new Neural Engine can offer many AI capabilities, bringing new experiences to users. Also, it is rumored that even the basic “cheap” iPhone 16 will have at least 8GB RAM. This is probably the reason why Apple informed its suppliers about the goal of 90 million units.
Meanwhile, Apple has already ordered 100 million units of the new chip for the iPhone 16, which will probably be called A18. The iPhone 16 will be announced this September.
