Apple has released iPadOS 18 to iPad users, aiming to bring new features and upgrades to their devices. However, the rollout of the update didn’t go smoothly, resulting in the company withdrawing it.
Many users reported severe problems after upgrading their iPad Pro devices with the M4 processor, as the devices stopped working and couldn’t be activated. Apple decided to halt the “OTA” updates on iPads, while also withdrawing the IPSW files that are used for device restoration.
On Reddit, there were many reports about issues with the iPadOS 18 version, with several users noticing that their iPads “shut down” completely after the update. One user even stated that his device couldn’t be activated or restored via computer, effectively rendering it useless.
Consequently, it’s recommended not to proceed with upgrading your iPad for now, especially if you own an iPad Pro with an M4 processor. Apple is expected to release a corrective update soon to address the issue.
