On the occasion of its 5th anniversary, POCO, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, has announced two new smartphones in the X series, specially made for GenZ: POCO X5 Pro 5G and POCO X5 5G.
“Specially designed for content creators to take it to new levels, we believe the POCO X5 Pro 5G is the best device, priced at 429 euros,” said Angus Ng, Head of Product Marketing at POCO Global. “With an amazing display and performance, the POCO X5 5G offers incredible value and the best possible user experience in a smartphone under 300 euros”.
Please note that these prices are European, while the value of the two devices in our country is expected to be announced on February 23rd.
The specifications
As for the specifications, for the first time in the X series, the POCO X5 Pro 5G will use a 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED screen. Thanks to this flexible screen technology, the POCO X5 Pro 5G is the thinnest X model to date, with a thickness of just 7.9mm. Also, the screen offers a refresh rate of 120Hz, has Dolby Vision certification and supports 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space with 10-bit colour depth.
Inside the device, we find a Snapdragon 778 5G SoC, which according to the company “offers an exceptional balance between energy efficiency and high performance, allowing the device’s camera system to operate faster than the previous model”.
The camera system uses a 108MP sensor with 4K Video recording capability, as well as two more sensors, one of 8MP with a wide-angle lens and one of 2MP for macro photos. As for the device’s autonomy, it comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 67W fast charging support.
Moving on to the POCO X5 5G, it caters to the user who wants an affordable smartphone for all day use, for work, news and entertainment. For this reason, the POCO X5 5G has a large 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, with a refresh rate of 120Hz and high contrast ratio, uses the Snapdragon 695 SoC which “provides a smooth user experience with high speeds and performance, as well as high download speeds”, and it is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
The POCO X5 Pro 5G Pro will be released in three colors (Black, Blue, Yellow) and in two versions (6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB), while the POCO X5 5G in three colors (Black, Blue, and Green), also in the same capacities.
