Samsung recently presented its new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4, at its Galaxy Unpacked event. So far, they have made a very positive impression as they appear significantly improved in many areas compared to the previous generation.
The larger phone of the series, the Z Fold 4, differs from its predecessor in dimensions, being shorter and slightly wider, making one-handed use easier. The screen bezels are smaller, and the device is lighter, creating the feeling of a more compact and refined device.
The cameras have also received significant upgrades, with the main sensor reaching 50MP with optical stabilization and accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The screen is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X with dimensions of 6.2” on the outside and 7.6” on the inside.
The starting price for the Z Fold starts at 1,899€ for the 256GB model.
What impressed us more, however, is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, with its improved 3,700 mAh battery and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Plus processor. The primary and secondary cameras are at 12MP, while the selfie one is 10MP and has an improved sensor that provides 65% brighter photos.
The inner screen of the Z Flip 4 reaches 6.7” with a resolution of 2640×1080 pixels, while its external one is 1.9” with a resolution of 512×260. The device’s frame is made of aluminum, and the external glass side is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus+. The device even has a feature that we have not seen in any other foldable, the IPX8 certification for water protection.
The Z Flip folded has dimensions of 84.8×71.9×15.9mm, so it can fit even in a shirt pocket. The starting price in our country reaches 1,150€.
This particular series, as stated by the company, reflects its vision for the future and aims to provide premium innovative products, in contrast to the A series that aims to offer powerful features at affordable prices.
