As Apple had announced some time before the release of the iPhone 12, the charger for the smartphones is no longer included in the basic purchase package. The same applies to the wired earbuds that used to accompany each package.
In addition to the latest models, the company also removed the charger from the packages of the iPhone 11 and the iPhone SE 2020. At the same time, it released a new 20W USB-C charger that sells separately, which could be helpful for those users who didn’t have previous models of iPhone and therefore already have an original charger. The cost of this charger to buy from Apple’s official online store is 19 dollars. It is noteworthy that in the Greek market it costs 29€.
How Xiaomi enters the competition
Xiaomi, identifying a gap in the market once again, decided to launch a new 20W USB-C wireless charger in cooperation with ZMI. This particular charger will be compatible with the iPhone 12 and it provides fast charging for a plethora of devices such as Samsung Galaxy S10, iPad Pro, Nintendo Switch, and so on. It weighs only 43.8 grams, and it’s 5€ cheaper than Apple’s charger, with its retail price in China being 39 yuan (24€). Xiaomi’s new gadget is expected to be released in November.
