A sudden move and your new iPhone is “swimming” in water. It sounds like a horror movie scenario but it can happen to anyone. The risk of your Apple smartphone getting wet is one of the most significant and handling it requires speed and calmness.

First step:
If water falls on your iPhone, immediately turn off the device. This will avoid a possible short circuit and save your phone from the worst. It’s logical to think about turning on your phone after a while to see if it works. Just forget it! If water has accumulated on the motherboard, a short circuit is certain upon restart!

Second step:

Remove the protective case of the iPhone so as not to retain moisture which is absorbed by the device. Do the same with the protective membrane or screen glass.

Third step:

Remove accessories such as headphones or the charger cable as these may block the water exits. Then try to remove the water as effectively as you can. Use absorbent paper or a soft cloth that does not leave lint.

Attention!

We pointed it out above but we will never tire of saying it. Do not try to restart your iPhone immediately, the same day. According to the official Apple guide, at least 2 days should pass before you turn on your phone.

The most appropriate move is to visit as soon as possible a store of ours specializes in mobile phone service. There, an experienced technician will make an accurate diagnosis and restore the iPhone to full operation with the least possible losses.
