The Samsung had begun warning users about the “death” of Samsung Cloud, when a year ago it reduced the Cloud capacity from 15 GB to 5 GB. Then, with the beta tests of Android 10, came the official announcement for the integration of Microsoft OneDrive.
The company’s latest announcement mentions the official termination of files on Samsung Cloud on June 21, 2021. In the meantime, users can transfer their data to OneDrive.
The end of an era for Samsung Cloud practically means that the ability to backup images and videos directly from the Gallery application is no longer valid. The Sync to Cloud option will now become Sync with OneDrive.
However, the expiry of this service varies depending on the market. The feature will be lost in the countries below on October 5th, so these markets are expected to be affected next fall. Samsung will give users a time margin to create backups and transfer their data to OneDrive until April 1st. If you rely on Samsung Cloud, all you have to do is create a timely non-automatic backup otherwise move your data over.
