Do you know how valuable iPhone memory is, especially if you have the 64GB version? Many applications, high-resolution photos and videos take up the majority of your device’s memory. At the same time, repeated updates drain your battery.
But what should you do to free up space on your iPhone;
- Remove pre-installed apps on iOS
There are apps on iOS that are pre-installed on your device. However, many users find these apps unnecessary and do not use them daily. If you also find them useless, you just have to delete them and free up space for a more popular app. Press the app and select Delete. Even if you regret it, you can always download it again from the App Store.
You should know that the only apps that can’t be removed from iPhone are Facetime, Safari and text messages.
Tip: There’s a way to mass-delete the apps you do not use. Go to Settings and in search type “Delete Unused App”. So apps you have not used in the last 180 days will be deleted automatically.
- Delete messages with large attachments
Instant messaging apps store photos, videos, and attachments that can clog your phone. To save a lot of space, you just have to go to your messages and delete sent items you are not interested in or entire conversations. Applying this tactic periodically can ensure plenty of space on your phone.
The same applies to the WhatsApp application, which by default saves the photos of every conversation in the photo gallery. To disable this feature, go to the app’s settings and disable the Save to Camera option.
- Organize photos and videos
The first thing iPhone users do when they face a storage problem is to visit the photo and video gallery. This is, of course, a good practice. Deleting photos, videos and screenshots you no longer want frees up plenty of space in your smartphone’s memory.
Make sure to disable automatic iCloud upload to avoid unwanted charges if you exceed the free limit. Also, as HDR photos take up more space than normal ones, disable the HDR feature from the camera settings. Tip: To keep your favorite photos, you can use Google Photos. This application automatically backs up without numerical limitation. So you can delete photos from the iPhone collection and keep them in the app.
