The Xiaomi Mi 11 is finally available! Among its impressive technical features, which make it one of the most quality smartphones on the market, is the fingerprint sensor which is located underneath the display. Of course, this is not a pioneering feature, as we have seen it on many smartphones to date. What makes it special is that the sensor is also used to measure the heart rate of the owner!
Responsible for this particular feature is the company Godix which manufactures the fingerprint sensor of Xiaomi. The company announced the function immediately after the presentation of the new Xiaomi Mi 11 with the following tweet:
With the arrival of Xiaomi Mi 11, we are happy to share with you that Goodix’s ultra-thin in-display optical fingerprint sensor is used in the company’s new flagship. Thanks to its ultra-thin construction, space is saved for the rest of the Mi 11 components without affecting its excellent performance. For the first time also, our sensor can be used to monitor heart rate with great accuracy, just as a smartband or smartwatch measures it.
