Calendar Spam on iPhone: How to Stop It

Many iPhone users receive annoying daily calendar spam. Many people are unaware of how to disable these unwanted invitations which cause pointless, continuous notifications and distract their attention, while filling their calendar with events they are not interested in.

Find below the easiest way to “get rid” of calendar spam.

What is an Unwanted Subscription Calendar

While browsing the internet, you may come across the following messages: “Open this page in Calendar?” or “Add Calendar Subscription: would you like to subscribe to the Calendar? Click OK to Continue“.

These notifications are cleverly placed within articles so many times users, out of curiosity, might click to continue. Pressing “open” or “ok” out of curiosity or even accidentally activates the Subscription Calendar feature. From that moment on, the “attack” with annoying Calendar Spam begins. The notifications look like a virus, but they aren’t, and they appear as invitations on the Calendar.

How to disable the Subscription Calendar

To put an end to the unwanted notifications, follow the steps below. Choose the path Settings-Email-Accounts. In the Accounts option, the Spam calendar will appear. Select it and press Delete. If there is more than one, repeat the process for each one separately. If you have an older version of iOS, you need to follow the same process from Settings and the Passwords option. However, this method concerns the hiding of the messages, while with the above process you will completely get rid of the unwanted notifications.
