Detailed Review of the New Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+: Design, Features, and Prices

Samsung has officially introduced its latest series of top Android flagship smartphones, boasting a renewed design, high-quality materials, powerful hardware, and impressive AI features through the Galaxy AI. In this article, we will examine the two smaller members of the series, the Galaxy S24 and S24+.

These two models are essentially the same, but there are some significant differences. In terms of design, Samsung aimed to create even slimmer and more elegant phones, with very thin screen margins and a small punch hole.

The standard Galaxy S24 features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with FHD+ resolution, a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz, 418ppi density, HDR10+, Always On, Eye Comfort Shield, and Vision Booster. In Europe, it will be equipped with the Exynos 2400 processor, while in other markets it will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 comes with 8GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery that supports fast 25W wired charging, 15W fast wireless charging, and reverse PowerShare charging. The smartphone also has an IP68 certification and supports

Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6e, and NFC. Regarding the camera, the Galaxy S24 features a triple system with a 50MP main camera, f/1.8 aperture, Dual Pixel Autofocus, and OIS. The main camera is accompanied by a 10MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus, 3x zoom, and OIS, as well as a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a field of view of 120°. The selfie camera has a resolution of 12MP with an f/2.2 aperture. The cameras remain the same on the S24+ model.

However, the Galaxy S24+ offers some additional features compared to the Galaxy S24. Its screen is 6.7 inches with the same specifications, but it has a QHD+ resolution and a density of 516ppi. The S24+ also comes with 12GB of RAM, instead of 8GB, 256GB/512GB of storage, and a larger 4,900mAh battery (compared to 4,000mAh) with 45W fast charging (up from 25W), 15W fast wireless charging, and reverse PowerShare charging. Like the S24, the S24+ has an IP68 certification, supports Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6e, as well as NFC, but additionally includes UWB technology.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+ focus on enhancing AI capabilities through Galaxy AI. One innovative feature is Circle to Search, which allows you to simply circle an item in a photo with your finger and search for it directly.

In addition, Galaxy AI is incorporated into the Samsung’s familiar notes application, Samsung Notes, with the Note Assist feature. This feature can summarize your notes, highlighting the key points and translating texts into foreign languages.

Perhaps the most impressive feature of Galaxy AI is the ability to translation in real time during a call. This means while your interlocutor is speaking, you can actually hear the translation in your chosen language, with the text being displayed on the screen. Unfortunately, this feature is not available in Greek in the first version of Samsung’s new flagship smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 has dimensions of 70.6 x 147.0 x 7.6 millimeters and a weight of 167 grams. The Galaxy S24+ is somewhat larger with dimensions of 75.9 x 158.5 x 7.7 millimeters and a weight of 196 grams.

Finally, with regard to prices and colors, the Galaxy S24 will be available in shades of Cobalt Violet, Amber Yellow, Onyx Black, and Marble Gray, with prices starting at 949 euros for the version with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, while the 256GB storage version costs 999 euros.
