Nowadays, most Android mobile phones and iOS devices offer their users the option of night mode. Theoretically, low light conditions do not stimulate the brain and help the individual sleep easier.
Users of smartphones and electronic devices are increasingly applying the night or dark mode option. Many believe that blue light filters will help them sleep better, but this is not proven to be the case. According to research conducted by Brigham Young University in Utah, these specific filters do not protect from the harmful effects of the blue light emitted by screens.
In the above research, 167 adults aged 18-24 participated, who were divided into groups. The results of the experiment showed that using the mobile phone in dark mode had no effect on sleep. Better sleep was only achieved by those who did not look at their mobile phone screen at all just before they went to bed.
