The Health application of iPhone can save health data recorded both by the iPhone and the Apple Watch. If your iPhone is running iOS 15 or a later version, you have the ability to share the recorded health data, with your family, your friends and of course, your doctor.
The basic prerequisite is that the recipient is in your contacts list and that you both have an iPhone with iOS 15 or later version. If you don’t have iOS 15, you need to update your iPhone to install it. Also, to be able to utilize this specific function, some health data must be set for sharing.
How to share health data
First, go to the Health app and click on the Sharing tab. Select “Share with someone” and locate the contact with whom you want to share your health data. As we said, you can share your health data only with people who are in your contacts, so make sure your doctor, for example, is in your contacts list before you try to share this specific data with them.
Then, the question will pop up if you want to “See suggested items” to speed up the process or select exactly the data you will send, through the “Manual setup” option. The next step is the question about sharing health notifications, like heart rate notifications.
If in the first step you have chosen “Manual setup”, then a full list of health data that you can share will be displayed or a short list if you choose Apple’s suggestions. By clicking “Show all” next to a category, you can check which options you will share.
Pressing “Next” finalizes your decision. Check the list of what you have chosen to share and complete it by pressing the “Edit” button. In the “Preview” option you can see the way your health data will be displayed and, finally, share it with the “Share” button.
