Apple is facing a new challenge with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as recent updates to popular apps such as Instagram, Uber, and the game Asphalt 9: Legends have caused the devices to overheat.
In a statement, Apple says that the overheating is temporary and may occur during the initial setup or restoration of the device, due to increased background activity. However, the company is determined to resolve the issue with the upcoming iOS 17.1 software update, which is expected to be released in late October.
iPhone 15 Pro models may run warmer for the first few days after activation, but this will be temporary. The company is also working with the developers of the apps that caused the overheating, including Instagram, to resolve the system overload issues.
Meanwhile, Apple assures users that the safety and long-term performance of the devices will not be affected by this overheating issue. The company also points out that the materials used in the devices, such as the titanium frame and aluminium substructure, have not contributed to the problem.
With the upcoming iOS 17.1 software update, Apple hopes to fix this issue and ensure the stable operation of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
