One of the serious consequences of the pandemic for the technology sector is the significant shortage of Mini-LED displays. As we have previously mentioned on the TheFixers Blog, this has delayed the launch of several devices, pushing back schedules for a number of companies.
Recent Bloomberg reports revealed that, despite the constraints, Apple will launch new 2021 iPad Pro models in April. The company is indeed facing serious problems with the shortage of displays set to replace the LCD screen on the 12.9-inch version, but it has secured an adequate number. Nevertheless, the new iPad models could still take a few more weeks to reach the market.

According to the reports, “Apple is still aiming to unveil the upgraded iPad Pro in two sizes as early as this month. The Mini-LED display will be exclusive to the 12.9 inch model. Limited supplies of these displays mean that the larger iPad Pro may reach the market later.”
Aside from the Mini-LED display, other iPad features that have been revealed include support for Thunderbolt connectivity via a USB-C port, as well as the new A14X processor, which will be based on the Apple M1. It is not yet known whether Apple will unveil the new iPad models at an event or announce them simply through a press release.
