OnePlus has unveiled a concept version of its latest flagship, which is rather unlikely to enter mass production.
While this particular version is unlikely to enter mass production at this stage, it could influence the design of future smartphones.
What makes the OnePlus 11 Active CryoFlux stand out is its new liquid cooling system, inspired by those we are used to seeing in gaming PCs.
Beneath the device's striking rear panel sits a ceramic piezoelectric microvalve that takes up 0.2cm2 of space and is responsible for circulating coolant through channels running through the processor and other components.
The lines visible on the back are not merely decorative: in theory, they will show the user the liquid cooling system operating in real time.
The system's advantages
According to OnePlus, the new system reduces the temperature by 2.1°C more than the current one, allowing the device to perform better, charge faster and deliver consistently high frame rates when gaming.
Alongside the cooling system, the OnePlus concept also features a special metal alloy coating for an even better grip.
It remains to be seen whether OnePlus or another manufacturer will implement something like this in a commercially available smartphone.
