Samsung looks set to equip its new models with a new, faster 65W charging solution, which will make its debut in the Galaxy S22 range, expected to launch in the first quarter of 2022.
This information has been leaked by several different sources, lending it greater credibility. The models in this series are reportedly codenamed Rainbow RGB, with R referring to the standard Galaxy S22, G to the Galaxy S22 Plus and B to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, all three of which will support 65W fast wired charging.
The first rumours about Samsung's fast charging emerged in January, and it was certified in February with a maximum charging rate of 3,25 Amps at 20 Volts. All signs suggest that the time has probably come for Samsung to move beyond 25W charging.
Although we saw 45W charging on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, the company did not bring this feature to its other models, for reasons that remain unclear. Now, however, all signs suggest that the Galaxy S22 range will support 65W fast charging, although the charger will be sold separately, with a 25W charger included in the box.
