Apple's brand-new Mini Desktop is here to shake things up! The Mac Mini with the new M1 chip weighs 2,6 lb and its external design does not differ significantly from the model we first saw in 2018. It features two USB-C ports that support Thunderbolt and USB 4, plus two USB-A ports, ethernet and a headphone jack.
The manufacturer claims that the new version is up to 60% more efficient than the previous model, thanks to an advanced thermal design that helps prevent overheating and keeps it quiet. What's more, thanks to the new M1, the Mac Mini is much faster, particularly for demanding tasks such as compiling code for developers or video editing.
The Mac Mini is among the first devices Apple has equipped with the new M1 system-on-a-chip, which is based on ARM architecture. The new Mini will be able to run iPhone and iPad apps and is available in two different configurations: 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD, or 8 GB RAM with a 512 GB SSD. Retail prices are 699 and 899 dollars respectively.
