Until today, every Samsung smartphone package included the phone and the charger. According to a recent report from South Korea, the company is considering removing the necessary accessory from the basic sales package. This tactic allows Samsung on the one hand to significantly reduce production costs and on the other hand to price its devices more aggressively compared to the competition. However, this can cause great disappointment to a group of users who will have to buy the charger separately.

According to rumors, Samsung, who has so far shipped equal numbers of chargers with its smartphones, is going to change its tactics from the beginning of 2021. The charger of course is necessary for the operation of the telephone unlike the headphones which are also included so far for free in the box but are not used by everyone.

The first company, however, that thought to remove the accessories from the basic package was Apple, which with the rise in sales of AirPods, examined the possibility of eliminating the conventional headphones from the iPhone’s packaging. Rumors also suggested that the iPhone 12 would be released without the charger. In a few months, we will know if the rumors will come true.
