The persistent problems with the Galaxy S20 Ultra have given Samsung executives a headache. The main issue concerns the camera's focus, as until recently the zoom was automatically set to 1,5x when it detected that the subject was too close. On the new model, the magnification increases to 2x.
To ease users' dissatisfaction, the company introduced a new zoom feature designed to compensate for the S20 UIltra's failure to focus at close range. It also made significant changes to its camera and sent owners of the Nordic S20 Ultra an official update simply encouraging them to move further back to achieve perfect focus.
Despite these efforts, the problems persist, with the website SamMobile calling on Samsung to provide a definitive solution. However, the minimum focusing distance is a limitation of the camera's main lens, so it cannot be fixed with a software update. A real solution to the problem is therefore expected with the release of the Galaxy Note 20+.
