Well-known leaker Sonny Dickson has posted a photo on social media that reportedly shows a case designed for Apple's as-yet-unannounced iPhone SE 4. The case is consistent with most of the rumours surrounding the device, which is expected to be unveiled in the spring, but with one difference.
Rumours suggest the iPhone SE 4 will feature a design similar to the iPhone 14, Face ID instead of Touch ID, a 6,06-inch OLED display instead of LCD, a USB-C port, a single 48 megapixel rear camera, an Apple-designed 5G modem, 8 GB RAM, and possibly a multifunctional Action Button to replace the classic mute switch.
The leaked case confirms many of these features, with the exception of the Action Button. On the side of the case, above the volume buttons, there is a cut-out for a physical mute switch, suggesting that the iPhone SE 4 may retain the traditional switch rather than adopt the Action Button, even though this button was extended to all iPhone 16 models after its introduction on the iPhone 15 Pro in 2023.
There is a slim chance that the iPhone SE 4 could launch before the Lunar New Year in January 2025. However, given that previous models in the SE range were announced in March, spring 2025 seems the most likely release window.
