The new foldables from Samsung are here, and their striking design and unique features make them stand out in the global smartphone market. However, it is precisely their innovative appearance and construction that have experts examining them closely to identify any flaws or weak points.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 was put to the test on the well-known YouTube channel JerryRigEverything, where host Zach Nelson concluded that the device appears to be quite durable, despite its seemingly delicate design. The clamshell smartphone was tested for dust resistance, a test recently added to the channel and now included whenever a device with a flexible screen is reviewed.
The YouTuber even subjected the phone to a reverse bend test -in other words, he tried to fold it shut in the opposite direction- which it appeared to handle exceptionally well, remaining in one piece despite his attempts to fold it the wrong way. However, the YouTuber noted that it is still quite easy to leave visible marks at level 2, with deeper grooves at level 3, on the main AMOLED screen, which appears quite fragile.
