Well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has published a list of specifications for the upcoming iPhone 16E, which is expected to launch in the spring.
This model, which until recently was referred to as the iPhone SE 4, looks set to be a highly appealing smartphone. Leaked information confirms that the device will be redesigned, moving away from the dated look of previous SE models. According to Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 16E will resemble the iPhone 14, but with some differences.

The device will feature a 6,06-inch FHD+ LTPS OLED display, similar to that of the iPhone 14, along with Face ID, a metal frame and a single rear camera. It will be powered by the A18 processor, the same chip used in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, and will also come with water resistance certification.
However, the display will retain a refresh rate of 60 Hz, which is considered a limitation, given that most devices in this category now offer a refresh rate of 120 Hz for a smoother user experience.
The iPhone 16E is expected to start at 499 dollars, making it Apple's most affordable option. Although its price is 70 dollars higher than the 2022 model, the updated design and powerful A18 processor justify the increase. Rumours also suggest that the iPhone 16E will feature 8 GB RAM, further boosting its performance and compatibility with Apple Intelligence.
Although the display's refresh rate may be a drawback compared with competing models such as the Pixel 8a and Galaxy A55, which offer a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the A18 processor makes it an excellent choice in its category. The iPhone 16E is expected to be unveiled in April and appears to have everything it takes to stand out as the best budget smartphone Apple has ever created.
