All signs suggest that the feature gap between iPhone and iPhone Pro is expected to widen in 2023. According to reports, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will offer WiFi 6E connectivity, while the non-Pro models will not!
A leaked document outlining the antenna architecture of the iPhone 15 range shows that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will continue to use the older WiFi 6 standard. Some of Apple's latest devices, including the recently announced M2 variants of the Mac mini, MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, already feature WiFi 6E connectivity, but the company has yet to make it available on more devices.
If there is a compatible WiFi 6E router that your device can connect to, the standard promises faster connection speeds and lower latency than WiFi 6. Even if the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus do not support WiFi 6E connectivity, the impact will be minimal, as most homes and businesses use older WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 routers.
Apple and its Pro models
According to the same reports, Apple had not previously made similar distinctions. Before the iPhone 14 range, the differences between Pro and non-Pro models were minimal, apart from the cameras. Last year, however, only the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max featured Apple's new A16 Bionic chip, Dynamic Island and ProMotion.
According to previous reports, other features that could be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max include Apple's upcoming A16 chipset, a titanium frame and more RAM for multitasking. The phones could also feature solid-state volume and power buttons.
