As Apple had announced quite some time before the launch of the iPhone 12, the charger for these smartphones is no longer included in the standard retail package. The same applies to the wired earphones that, until recently, came in every box.
Alongside the latest models, the company also removed the charger from the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2020 boxes. It also released a new USB-C 20W charger, sold separately, for users who did not own previous iPhone models and therefore did not already have a genuine charger. It costs 19 dollars when purchased from Apple's official online store. In the Greek market, it costs 29€.
How Xiaomi is entering the game and stepping up the competition
Once again spotting a gap in the market, Xiaomi has decided to launch a new USB-C wireless charger with a power output of 20W in collaboration with ZMI. This charger will also be compatible with the iPhone 12 and offers fast charging for a wide range of devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S10, iPad Pro, Nintendo Switch, etc. It weighs just 43,8 grams and is 5€ cheaper than Apple's charger, with a retail price in China of 39 yuan (24€). Xiaomi's new gadget is expected to launch in November.
