The new iPhone 12 Pro is now available to order, and it was only a matter of time before it came under the microscope of well-known YouTuber and technology enthusiast JerryRigEverything. In his teardown, he was quick to share with his followers some details and hidden features of its interior.
The first drawback he revealed about the screen is that it has more glue, and the fact that it sits flat in the new frame makes it even harder to remove.
As for the motherboard, its components are distributed on either side, leaving some space free inside. There are several flex cable connections here, which make it easier to dismantle the iPhone 12 Pro. During the teardown, the camera sensors are visible, with two of them featuring optical image stabilisation. The fact that the SIM card slot is a separate module is a welcome touch. Another pleasant surprise is the LiDAR system, which is separate from the other sensors and is also protected by its own metal bracket. As with the other latest android models, there is no cooling on the iPhone 12 Pro's motherboard. As expected, the famous YouTuber ends up breaking the smartphone's screen, but something had to be sacrificed so that we could learn the correct way to open the device.
